Newsletter Submission

For the past few years the newsletter has been mainly reserved for Circuit events. The rationale for this decision was based on the idea that it takes a large amount of time to include many local events which may not have been relevant to the majority of churches in the circuit. That it would be more effective for local churches to use their own local networks to communicate their events.

However, there have been comments recently suggesting that it would be really encouraging to celebrate and find out what is happening around the Circuit. Communication across such a large Circuit isn't always easy, and this may result is a sense of disconnect. For this reason it has been decided for a trial period to include church 'special events' in the newsletter. This doesn't include regular coffee mornings & church bazaars for example, but does include things like one-off fundraising events, talks, concerts, discipleship or prayer events.

To make this change easier and to lessen the amount of time it would take to edit the newsletter, we are also trialling the use of an online form to be used when submitting events. A set of guidelines will also be published which will help with consistency and ensure all content is included. Those of you who submit items for inclusion in the District newsletter will have already used a similar form.

Local churches are still encouraged to use or develop their own websites to communicate with the wider community. The circuit website lists all churches and is accessible to the public, therefore a link on your church page to your website would allow people to quickly and easily find out what is happening in the life of your church.
