Firth Park achieves Eco Church Bronze status
At FPMC, we are on a journey to future proof our buildings so that our Christian worship and community engagement and support will continue for years to come. We believe that God has given us the gift of creation and we feel it is our duty to care for it as much as we can.
Part of this endeavour is our commitment to make our church as environmentally friendly as possible. Using renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, is part of our plans moving forward but smaller measures such as push button taps to save water and the introduction of automatic sensor lights in part of our building, are also contributing to our aim.
We are really pleased to receive the bronze award, and are moving towards achieving silver in the future. The process is relatively simple and the guidance given is excellent. The survey we completed really made us think about how we can become more environmentally friendly and has shaped our thoughts around the redevelopment of our building.
