Circuit Weekly Devotions 2026

Circuit Weekly Devotions 2026

Part of the Methodist Way of Life (https://www.methodist.org.uk/for-churches/evangelism-growth/lead-churches-into-growth/planning-for-growth/a-methodist-way-of-life/) is the commitment as Methodist disciples to pray daily.

The Connexion provides an annual Prayer Handbook for this purposes, often built upon the Presidential theme for the year. This year it is called “Sorrow and Joy” and it provides us with resources for daily prayer and Bible reading throughout the year. The Sheffield District provides the “District Prayer Diary” which offers us prayers and pray topics for each day of the month.

On the Sheffield Circuit we provide a weekly opportunity to pray together on a Wednesday evening at 8:00pm under the leadership of Reverend James Morley (Deputy Superintendent). Please go to https://www.facebook.com/metalmethodist for details.

In addition to the weekly prayer meeting on Zoom we are experimenting over the next 8 weeks up to the start of Advent with a weekly prayer resource on video. This will go out on a Wednesday morning and you can use it at any time of the week. Each week you will be introduced to a member of the Circuit Staff Team, led in prayer.

Also in this period, we will be focussing on some reflections upon why we have a passion as Christian disciples in matters of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Please make use of the resource and pass it on to others, especially those who can’t make it to church in person.
