Reverend Lisa Quarmby:
I was born in Sunderland, where most of my family still live. All my working life has been in the church: I was a lay worker in Cardiff and Manchester; and after studying at Ripon and Hartley Victoria, I was stationed as a minister in Halifax and North Yorkshire — and now with you in Sheffield!
I'm a crafter — I do this for my own pleasure but also to fundraise for good causes. I can occasionally be seen on the back of a tandem with my husband Andy, tackling the Sheffield gradients with gusto if not speed! We have two adult children, and two black (always hungry) cats. I enjoy all music, but my real love is rock and metal...
I like to meet people where they're at, and to discover how faith is weaved into our own stories and into our communities — storytelling is a big part of my calling, whether it's the Gospel story or writing my own. I'm trained as a spiritual director... my spirituality is rooted in the Ignatian tradition: being a contemplative in action!
